How to Upload

It is necessary to prepare your manuscript for upload. It is recommended that you remove the manuscript .ps and .pdf files. These are files tend to be large and unnecessary for the upload. It will also be much simpler if you create a .zip file or .tar.bz2 of the manuscript. If you have questions about how to make these types of files consult with your local computer support staff.

To upload your manuscript to the ASPCS server you first need to receive an account from the publication staff at ASPCS. Once you have this account you can upload your files by going to http://linux.aspbooks.org/upload/. When prompted to login use the username and password given to you by ASPCS. When the web page loads you will see a "Browse" button. Click the button, a window will open prompting you to select a file to upload. Select your file and click "OK". You are now ready to upload the file. Click the "Upload File" button. This will begin the upload process. This may take several minutes or more to finish.

The progress bar on the bottom will inform you on whether the upload is still in progress and on whether the upload worked or failed. If the upload takes more than an hour, it failed. Try breaking the file up into smaller pieces.

Once the file has been uploaded, send an email to our Publication Manager noting that the manuscript has been uploaded. The ASP Conference Series has the ability to use version control (Subversion). If you would like more information about Subversion and why it may be usefull, it can be found at http://linux.aspbooks.org/subversion-info.php.

Once you have notified Conference Series staff that your manuscript has been uploaded, you will receive further instructions as to how to proceed via email.

Note: If you are familiar with SSH and uploading files via SSH then you may upload your file(s) using that method instead of using the web site.
